HELP SUPPORT OUR SMALL ARTIST-RUN SPACE

Dear Community Members and Friends,

2025 marks the start of Well Well Projects’ fifth year of programming and our fourth membership cycle of local and regional artists!

Since opening our doors in 2021, we’ve proudly showcased over 190 non-member artists through curated exhibitions, our annual call-for-proposals program, and collaborations with partner organizations. Our project-based funding from the Ford Family Foundation in 2022 and 2023, along with community-driven initiatives like Form.a and Art-Prize Bingo, reflects our unwavering commitment to cultivating an engaged artist membership and supporting the broader art community.

Well Well Projects is dedicated to providing an inclusive platform for emerging and mid-career artists, fostering dialogue, and engaging with the regional community and beyond. Our exhibitions and events are fueled by passion, but they rely on your generosity to thrive.

What makes Well Well Projects truly unique is that we are almost entirely funded by the contributions of our 15 artist members. Through member dues, we’ve not only sustained our space but also generated countless opportunities for artists across local, regional, and broader communities. This is a testament to the passion and commitment of our members, but sustaining and growing these efforts requires additional support from our community.

As we reflect on the vital role art plays in our lives, we’re reminded that spaces like Well Well Projects are only possible through collective care. Well Well is a labor of love, and on this National Giving Day, we’re asking for your help to expand our impact. In 2025, we aim to grow beyond our current capacity: hosting more workshops, fairly compensating guest artists, and recovering from an unfortunate break-in that resulted in the loss of valuable A/V and installation equipment.

Today, we invite you to join us in celebrating the creativity and community that defines our artist-run gallery. Whether this is your first time contributing or you’ve supported us before, every donation—no matter the size—directly sustains our mission. Your generosity provides artists with the space, resources, and visibility they need to flourish while nurturing Portland’s vibrant cultural landscape.

We’re excited to welcome two new members to our roster in January and kick off the new year with the exhibition of our annual open call—a fresh and inspiring start to 2025! To learn more about our upcoming events, visit our website or follow us on social media.

Thank you for believing in the power of art and for helping us create a space where creativity thrives. Cheers to 2025! Let’s keep Portland’s small art spaces alive and well.

Warmly,
John Whitten, Katherine Spinella, Morgan Rosskopf,
and everyone at Well Well Projects
