Like Liquid, Cut Loose is a collaborative exhibition between visual artist Morgan Rosskopf and sound artist Ashlin Aronin. Through drawing and sound we examine the ubiquitous nature of water, its ungovernable qualities, and its relationship with technology and our existence. What was once understood as technological advancement has been demystified as distraction. Having covered the earth with oil, undersea cable networks, and endless amounts of microplastics, we are left standing on the last mountain top listening to the soundtrack of the ocean eating the earth. In a great reversal of planetary power dynamics we are immersed in an all consuming liquid embrace, reveling in the beauty of this destruction. With warm-hearted apocalyptic acceptance, we step into the sea.
